Ibanez Electric Guitar
A guitar doesn't have to cost a bundle to sound good. The GIO series was developed for players who want Ibanez quality in a more affordable package. Not only do they look and play better than everything else in their price range, but their rigorous inspection, set-up, and warranty is the same as Ibanez's more expensive models.
GSR180 is a Soundgear series solid-body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in late 2004. It has been made in both Indonesia and China as part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GSR180 features a double-cutaway nato body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez passive jazz pickups, a B10 bridge with 19mm string spacing, a plastic nut, and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2009 the body material was changed to agathis. For the Brown Sunburst finish the body material was changed to basswood in 2013 and mahogany in 2014. For 2015 the body material was changed to mahogany. For 2018 the rosewood fingerboard was replaced with treated New Zealand pine and the body material was changed to poplar. For 2019 the fretboard material was changed to jatoba. For 2020 the fretboard material was again changed, this time to purpleheart. For 2022 the body material was changed to okoume
The Purpleheart fretboard emphasizes the beauty and the rich tonal character of this bass.
The B10 bridge allows fully adjustable intonation and solid tuning stability.
