SHURE SM7db Vocal Microphone

Shure SM7dB Dynamic Vocal Microphone with Built-In Preamp

The Shure SM7dB is a professional dynamic vocal microphone designed for broadcasting, podcasting, voice-over, streaming, and music recording. Based on the legendary SM7B, the SM7dB adds a built-in active preamp that delivers up to +28 dB of clean, low-noise gain, making it easier to achieve strong signal levels without requiring an external inline preamp.

With its smooth, flat, wide-range frequency response, the SM7dB captures vocals and speech with exceptional clarity and natural detail. Its cardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the main sound source while rejecting unwanted off-axis noise, making it an excellent choice for professional vocal applications.

Professional Sound with More Output

The SM7dB retains the smooth, warm and natural sound associated with the SM7B while adding a built-in preamp for greater output. With selectable +18 dB and +28 dB gain settings, you can connect the microphone directly to a wide range of audio interfaces and simplify your recording setup.

The microphone's specially engineered dynamic capsule provides a rich and controlled response, particularly in the lower frequencies, making it a trusted option for spoken-word content, vocals and professional broadcasting.

Broadcast-Quality Vocal Performance

The cardioid polar pattern is designed to capture sound primarily from the front of the microphone while helping minimize unwanted sound from the sides and rear. This provides focused, consistent vocal reproduction and helps reduce feedback and background noise.

The SM7dB also includes bass roll-off and midrange presence controls, allowing you to fine-tune the microphone's tonal response to suit different voices and recording applications.

Built-In Preamp for Easy Setup

One of the biggest advantages of the SM7dB is its integrated preamp. Choose between +18 dB or +28 dB of additional gain, or bypass the preamp completely using the true-bypass switch.

The preamp operates using 48V phantom power, helping deliver a stronger signal without the need for a separate inline microphone booster.

Reduced Noise and Interference

The SM7dB features improved shielding against electromagnetic hum and broadband interference, helping maintain a clean audio signal when working around computers, monitors and other electronic equipment.

Its internal air suspension shock isolation also helps minimize mechanical noise and vibrations transmitted through the microphone stand or mounting system.

Built for Close-Up Vocals

The included detachable close-talk windscreen helps reduce unwanted breath sounds and plosives when speaking or singing close to the microphone. This makes the SM7dB particularly well suited for podcasting, narration, voice-over, streaming and broadcasting.
