TAMA TTL10 Tension Lock – Keep Drum Tension Secure & Stable

Keep your drumheads performing where you want them with the TAMA TTL10 Tension Lock - a clever accessory that locks tension rods in place so they don’t loosen while playing. Designed with an octagonal head hole that fits snugly on standard tension bolts and an elastic O-ring that allows you to tune without removing the lock, the TTL10 ensures lasting tension and consistent tone from gig to gig. Whether used on snares, toms, or bass drums, these tension locks help minimize drift, reduce maintenance mid-set, and protect tuning integrity. Perfect for drummers who want solid hardware that works quietly and keeps their sound locked in. Each pack includes 10 pieces — enough to outfit multiple drums or replace over time.

TAMA TTL10 Tension Lock - Featuring a 1.2mm thick seamless Aluminum shell, this drum creates a crisp, open sound with bright, complex overtones. Its aluminum shell maximizes the most positive attributes of STARPHONIC features, such as the Freedom Lug, the Grooved Hoop and Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare. With such exhilarating sound quality, this drum will undoubtedly change your mind about the sound of Aluminum.

How It Works / How to Use

Here’s how to install and use TTL10 tension locks effectively:

  1.  Tune your drum first.  Bring your drum to the tension you want (i.e. tune up each tension rod to match pitch) as normal, without the tension locks in place (or with them loose if possible).
  2.  Install the Tension Lock. Once the drums are tuned, place a TAMA TTL10 over the head of each tension rod / bolt. The locking accessory fits snugly due to its matching octagonal (or shaped) hole. The elastic O-ring helps hold it and allows for small adjustment.
  3.  Ensure proper orientation.  The TTL10 should be oriented so that its contact or “flat side” (if applicable) prevents the bolt head from turning loose; usually this is around the rim or hoop side, depending on drum design. It prevents counter-clockwise loosening (for typical bolts), but you still must be able to access for adjustment if needed.
  4.  Check compatibility. Because hoops differ (flanged, die-cast, wooden, or grooved), test to ensure the TTL10 sits properly without interfering with the hoop or head, especially with tighter die-cast hoops or custom wooden hoops.
