The AZ2204N features an alder body bolted to an S-Tech* roasted maple oval C-shaped neck with a compound radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 stainless steel frets, mother-of-pearl dot position markers, and luminescent side dots. Components include Seymour Duncan Fortuna pickups mounted in a red tortoise pickguard with a humbucker* at the bridge and single-coils* in the neck and middle positions, a T1702B two-point synchronized tremolo* bridge, a bone nut, an angled output jack and Gotoh locking tuning machines with height-adjustable posts.

*S-Tech wood is a heat-treated wood product produced by Sendai Technologies in Japan. It is employed by Ibanez in the treatment of some guitar necks and fingerboards.
